Israel 1 - 1 Scotland
Scotland maintained the third spot in their group after they fought back against Israel to secure a 1-1 draw in Tel Aviv.
Both teams started the game quickly and maintained a fast pace throughout the first ten minutes. Israel had the first clear opportunity on goal in the 8th minute, when Manor Solomon curled his shot just wide of the post.
It took only a minute for Scotland to reply with a chance of their own however, as Scott McTominay narrowly missed wide with an unchallenged header from a corner kick.
Israel continued to threaten the Scotland goal when a quick attack down the right hand side once again found Solomon who fired his shot straight at the keeper.
Scotland’s only other highlight of the first half came after 35 minutes when Ryan Fraser’s through ball proved just too heavy for the committed Che Adams.
Israel broke the deadlock in the 44th minute when Dor Peretz’ long range effort proved too powerful for David Marshall as it rocketed into the top corner.
Scotland were able to bounce back after 56 minutes when Ryan Christie’s tackle sparked a counter attack which led to a calm bottom corner finish by Ryan Fraser.
Israel thought they had scored a second when Sun Menahem’s 67th minute header rippled the side netting.
Scotland looked more dangerous than their opposition in the second half and had the best chance to secure a win in the 79th minute, only to have McTominay’s side-footed attempt blocked while headed into the bottom corner.
