Scotland will face Israel for the fourth time in ten matches as they aim to go one further than the European Championships and qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
After a 2-2 draw with Austria in their opening match, Scotland manager Steve Clarke will be looking for a reaction from his team as they play a familiar opponent in their second World Cup qualifier.
Spirits should be high as Scotland look for revenge following a 1-0 loss in their previous meeting with Israel last November.
Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay made it clear in his interview after the Austria match that he wants to “dominate” Israel, saying: “We know we can (dominate). It’s up to us to show that."
In his press conference Steve Clarke described both teams as “evenly matched”, but pointed out that Israel have “threats in key areas of the pitch.”
One of these threats is striker Eran Zahavi, who has previously shown against Scotland that he has the ability to score goals.
Steve Clarke also praised Scotland midfielder John McGinn, saying: “wherever we play John, he always gives 100% for his country and that’s the most valuable part.”
After his debut substitute appearance against Austria, Che Adams will also be hoping for praise as he pursues the role of starting striker.
A win would be beneficial for both nations in the qualifying race, with Denmark currently leading the table after being the only team to win their opening match in the group.
